Pet care franchise Hounds Town USA is a new key sponsor for the Michigan Humane Society’s 31st annual Mutt March. Participants met at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Point Shores for the 2.5-mile dog walk benefiting the Michigan Humane Society. With over 1,400 people registered to attend and loads of treats and activities, it was a fun event for the whole family.

Pete Mourad and Kristen Thomas of Hounds Town – Metro Detroit met the folks at the MHS earlier this year while volunteering. “The people we have met have been amazing, and they are all super excited to see Hounds Town – Metro Detroit open and thrive,” says Thomas. “When asked if we would sponsor the 2019 Mutt March, it was a no brainer. We were honored to do it.” The MHS is the oldest and largest nonprofit animal welfare organization in Michigan. And the annual Mutt March fundraiser helps secure the critical medicine, food, and shelter for all the animals they save each year. In addition, the MHS operates a Statewide Animal Response Team dedicated to saving neglected and abused animals.

Hounds Town USA–which will be opening its popular doggie day care services in Detroit—strongly advocates for dogs of all breeds. They also support local rescues and charities like the MHS. “The Michigan Humane Society is doing everything it can to help animals without a voice. Hounds Town is proud to be a sponsor of a charity which helps more than 8,000 animals get adopted each year,” says Hounds Town President Jackie Bondanza.
