Dave Robbins spent 17 years in the United States Marine Corps Reserves before discovering his new calling and beginning his entrepreneurial journey with Hounds Town USA.

Correlating with his time spent in the USMC Reserves, Robbins also worked with AT&T to help build a mobility project design team in which Robbins, with less than 25 employees, managed revenues averaging $350 million a year. Despite this success, however, Robbins was laid off. Everything happens for a reason, though, and this layoff actually proved to be the perfect time for Robbins to follow his dream of starting his own business!

Robbins was leaning towards opening a doggie daycare as he had been around dogs for most of his life. While in the USMC Reserves, Robbins and his wife were constantly having to utilize doggie daycare facilities so when Robbins discovered Hounds Town USA and learned about how we conduct business in the industry, he knew immediately that it was a perfect fit.

“Their philosophy is to have smaller playgroups, pair dogs up that have the same temperament, play styles, things like that,” Robbins said. “It’s a lot more work that goes into it, but at the end of the day, it gives the dog a more beneficial environment. And they’ve been very successful with it.”
