Bergen County, New Jersey, has officially gone to the dogs now that Hounds Town USA has now officially sold out of dog daycare franchise territories in the county! That’s right- every town in Bergen County is now a HOUNDS TOWN!
With an estimated population of over 932,000, Bergen County is the largest county in the entire state of New Jersey and includes the towns of Hackensack, Paramus, and Rutherford, to name just a few. A number of people who work in New York City reside in Bergen County due to its relatively close proximity, and it is known as a great place to raise a family, thanks to its renowned public school system.
We’re especially thrilled that our most recent sold-out territory is also home to the first Hounds Town location we ever opened. Our flagship facility, which opened in 2001, is still going strong in Bergen County, making this a full-circle moment for us as we look ahead to opening the last available dog daycare franchise locations in the area.
Franchise Owner Phillip Michael, who signed the franchise agreement for his Bergen County Hounds Town USA location last fall, spoke with 1851 Franchise about how his personal experiences with Hounds Town USA made him want to invest in a location of his own. “It was a pain to find a place for my dog during my honeymoon where I didn’t have to worry about him getting sick or hurt,” he recalled. “I saw the struggle I went through to find a trustworthy place to put him. I thought it was time for me to enter the pet industry.”
In addition to his Bergen County territory that will serve the Hillsdale area, Michael has ambitious plans to purchase a South Florida dog daycare franchise territory with Hounds Town USA down the road. In his interview with 1851 Franchise, he mentioned that he is passionate about fostering further growth of Hounds Town USA in an effort to bring a quality dog daycare franchise option to more U.S. cities. “I want to help grow Hounds Town. It’s not just about taking care of the dogs — it’s about giving owners a great place to leave their dogs,” he says.
One of Michael’s key reasons for investing in a Hounds Town USA dog daycare franchise over a competitor was the instant feel of family and connection that he’s experienced while working our Founders and the rest of the Hounds Town corporate team. “I love that it’s a family-based franchise, and the team makes me feel like I’m part of a family rather than looking at me like dollar signs,” he explains.
Hounds Town USA President Jackie Bondanza shared her excitement about Phillip Michael’s soon-to-open Bergen County dog daycare franchise with 1851 Franchise, saying, “We’re excited to bring doggie daycare to areas of New Jersey that are going to need it, and we’re even more excited to have Phil joining the brand. His passion for business and his love of animals is really the perfect pairing that we look for in our franchisees, and he’s been a great addition to the family.”
Bondanza also mentioned that, despite the unprecedented events that have unfolded throughout 2020- or perhaps because of them!- Hounds Town USA is seeing booming business at locations across the country, and credits the meteoric rise in pet adoption that has occurred in shelters across America since the beginning of stay-at-home orders in March. “The spark in pet adoption has created quite the growth opportunity for Hounds Town,” she noted in the 1851 interview, sharing that our existing Bergen County, NJ location is reporting a 25% increase in both revenue and occupancy since the same time last year! We’re pleased to be seeing this level of impressive franchise growth and announcing the impending openings of new dog daycare franchise locations, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Worried you missed out on a golden opportunity to own a Hounds Town USA franchise in the Garden State? Fear not- though our dog daycare franchise is all sold out of Bergen County territories, we still have availability throughout the rest of New Jersey, with a special focus on expanding our pawprint in Hudson, Essex, and Morris Counties. For New Jersey entrepreneurs who love the idea of franchising with a company that truly cares about dogs and giving back to the communities we serve, there’s still time to join the Hounds Town dog daycare franchise family before we sell out of available territories statewide. We’re currently awarding dog daycare franchises to business-savvy dog lovers across the country, and we aren’t slowing down anytime soon!
