NY-Based Pet Franchise Adds 5th Doggie Daycare Location

Interactive doggie daycare facility and pet franchise Hounds Town USA—which offers doggie daycare, overnight boarding, grooming, pet taxi services, and more—is opening its fifth location in the Mineola area this coming fall.

The unique pet care facility is designed as a town for dogs, complete with a cinema, barber shop, “fire house,” “police station,” and a doggie hotel with luxury suites. Customers Lauren and Jimmy began frequenting Hounds Town Farmingdale with their dog Willy—a German Shepherd—about three years ago and fell in love with the concept. “Willy has been boarding at Hounds Town for three years, and loves every minute of his visits,” Lauren explains. “He was rescued from a local shelter four years ago, which led to my passion for rescue pups.”

While Lauren continued to work her day job in medical sales and Jimmy ran his real estate company, the couple began to seriously consider starting a second career by opening their very own Hounds Town. They decided on the bustling Mineola area after realizing the lack of doggie daycares and boarding facilities in the area. “We’re thrilled to join the Hounds Town team. We are both excited to be a part of a fantastic pet franchise!” says Lauren.

And Hounds Town USA President is just as thrilled. “We are really looking forward to expanding into Nassau County,” says Michael Gould, a retired NYPD canine handler and former Commanding Officer of the Nassau County Canine Unit. Since opening the first Hounds Town USA location in 2001, Gould has always had his eye set on expanding across Long Island—and beyond. “Lauren and Jimmy are an excellent addition to our Hounds Town USA family. Their background in business coupled with their love of animals is a recipe for success,” says Gould. “They have proven they’re capable of following our franchise model, and we look forward to them improving our system and our brand.”
