In 2022, AVG Gross Profits for Hounds Town Dog Franchise Locations operating for over 5 years was $905,531 of Gross Revenue. Our franchised location operating for more than 5 years generated an AVG Net Operating Income of $438,133. Based on unaudited profit and loss statements, we include the average Gross Profit generated by a subset of the reporting locations in the calendar year 2022, including two franchised locations open for at least five years and less than ten years as of December 31, 2022. Fifty percent of the reporting outlets open for five years or more and less than ten years exceeded the reported average Net Revenue. The highest-performing outlet in this subset reported a Net Revenue of $998,788.00, a Gross Profit of $993,788, and a Net Operating Income of $453,825.00. The lowest-performing outlet in this subset reported a Net Revenue of $822,097.00, Gross Profit of $817,274.00 and a Net Operating Income of $422,442. These figures are set forth in Table 3 and Table 5c of the 2023 FDD’s item 19. Item 19 reports on 21 franchised outlets of the 37 franchised outlets opened on December 31, 2022. These 21 franchised outlets were open for twelve months or more as of December 31, 2022. We requested unaudited profit and loss statements from the 21 Hounds Towns franchisees and one Affiliate-Owned Outlet. Average Net Revenue for outlets open 5 - 10 years is based on the Net Revenue for the 2022 calendar year reported by a subset of these locations that included two franchised outlets that were open for five years or more and less than ten years as of December 31, 2022. A Franchised Location that operated for over ten years was our highest overall performing franchisee with respect to Net Revenue (defined below) and generated $1,329,089 in Net Revenue. For Net Revenue, our lowest-performing franchise location was open for over one year and less than two years and generated $192,608 in Net Revenue. For Gross Profit, the highest-performing outlet was an outlet opened more than 10 years that reporting $1,312,930 in Gross Profit, and the lowest-performing outlet was open between 1-2 years and reported a Gross Profit of $192,608. For Net Operating Income, the highest performing outlet was an outlet opened more than 10 years that reported $494,336 in Net Operating Income, and the lowest performing outlet was open for 12 months and reported Net Operating Income of -$51,140. “Net Revenue” means the total selling price, excluding sales taxes, discounts, and promotions of all products and services sold at, from, or through the Hounds Town business, whether or not sold or performed at or from the Hounds Town business, including the full redemption value of any voucher or coupon sold for use at the Hounds Town business (fees retained by or paid to third-party sellers of such vouchers or coupons are not excluded from this calculation). “Gross Profit” means Net Revenue less COGS. “Net Operating Income” means Net Revenue less Cost of Goods Sold, Operating Expenses, and Franchisee-Related Expenses. Net Operating Income does not include the deduction of the following expenses: owner’s salary, vehicle expenses, meals and travel, gifts, and charity contributions.
